"Digital skills for skilled workers" measure

The Jena Digital Werkstadt will promote digital skills and, together with industry, universities and educational institutions, is developing a practice-oriented further training concept that includes IT skills such as data analysis and artificial intelligence, software development or IT architecture, and key digital skills such as agile working, digital learning or innovation skills. This creates an ecosystem for further training that enables companies and institutions to impart digital skills in a practice-oriented manner. The aim is to qualify students and employees for the challenges of tomorrow in the spirit of lifelong learning.

Milestones achieved
  • Jena Digital Safari - Students from Thuringian universities (e.g. Schmalkalden, Ilmenau, Nordhausen, Weimar) get to know the players and companies in the digital economy at various stations. The aim is to introduce tomorrow's skilled workers to exciting employers at an early stage. The aim is to give students at Thuringian universities a practical insight and to keep the skilled workers of tomorrow in Thuringia in the long term.
  • "Jena Digital Safari Girls Day Edition", took place for the second time in 2025 - young schoolgirls are to be inspired by digital topics at an early stage, as women are currently underrepresented in digital professions.
  • MINT Festival: The JEDI - Jena Digital Innovation Hub will be the external location of the Friedrich Schiller University's MINT Festival in 2025. Focus: robotics, programming, making, career guidance
  • Together with the Thuringian Center for Learning Systems and Robotics (TZLR), the further education series JENA.AI.Live was launched. Here, interested parties can acquire skills in the field of artificial intelligence free of charge every three weeks.
