Establishment of a 3D tool for urban planning and development projects
In Jena's urban space, the available areas are limited and there are different demands in terms of use, environmental and resource protection as well as the needs of citizens. Forward-looking and transparent planning and development of urban space is therefore essential.
A 3D visualization tool is to be developed for urban planning and development: This tool should make it possible to clearly depict and analyze physical-spatial conditions and relevant influencing factors such as sunlight, shadows, visual axes, noise pollution and flooding areas. With this modern tool, complex relationships can be presented more precisely and communicated more effectively.

Development and testing of a digital citizen participation format
Digital images of the urban space that clearly illustrate planning and development options are well suited for participation and co-determination processes in urban society. Analog participation formats can thus be usefully supplemented by new digital forms of collaboration. The aim is to involve many citizens with modern and attractive formats.
The necessary data for this task is provided by the urban data platform "WISSENsAllmende". The "Jena Digital Werkstadt" innovation and experimentation space will be used to develop new digital participation formats.
