Citizen Participation in the Smart City Strategy Phase

Our citizen participation phase began on March 9, 2022, with the goal of gathering direct feedback and ideas from the public. Through a participation platform created specifically for this purpose by the City of Jena, citizens had the opportunity to evaluate our goals and measures in the Smart City project and share their views with us. In addition, digital and in-person workshops were offered on topics related to the overall strategy and areas of action. These workshops provided an opportunity for direct dialogue with project leaders.

The evaluation and results of the public participation process are summarized in this PDF:

Citizen Engagement During the Implementation Phase

Involvement and participation are central elements of our project. That’s why the involvement of Jena’s citizens doesn’t end with the completion of the strategy. We want to continue involving the city’s community in the Smart City process during the implementation phase as well, and we’ll offer suitable in-person and digital formats for this purpose.
