From October 11 to 26, 2025, the motto throughout Thuringia will once again be: Code, tinker, experiment!
Code Week Thuringia invites children and teens to discover the world of digital technologies through play—from programming and robotics to app development and creative STEM projects. The goal is to spark an early interest in digital topics among young people and equip them with the skills they’ll need in an increasingly tech-driven world.

Companies, clubs, organizations, and initiatives in Jena are also participating in this event and will serve as a meeting place for everyone who thinks about education, digitalization, and the future as interconnected concepts. One of the main highlights in Jena is the panel discussion “Human AI – Fostering Young Talent: AI Skills in STEM Education” at the Jena Digital Innovation Hub (JEDI).

Panel Discussion 

How can we prepare young people for a future shaped by artificial intelligence?
What digital skills do students need today—and how can teachers teach them?
Experts from politics, education, business, and academia will discuss these topics together with the audience.

Workshop for Students 

Following the discussion, a workshop for children and teens is planned.
Participants will have the opportunity to experiment with AI tools and digital applications themselves—in a hands-on, creative setting and with support from experts in the smart city community.
