city of Jena

See a doctor quickly - even without your own smartphone, computer or prior knowledge: From now on, all citizens of the city of Jena can use the telemedicine room in the Smart Quarter Jena-Lobeda at Ziegesarstraße 13 - regardless of where they live. The service enables digital general practitioner and specialist consultations without long waiting times - with personal support, barrier-free and in compliance with data protection regulations.

Personal support guaranteed

Anyone who is simply curious and would like to try out a modern form of medical care will find the telemedicine room a suitable setting. In addition, the service is particularly suitable for people without their own technical equipment or with little experience in the digital world: a medical professional is always present during GP consultations, helps with preparation, reads the health card, measures vital signs and remains present during the entire consultation if necessary. A trained person is also always present during specialist consultations (dermatology and surgery) to help with registration and, if required, leave the room for the necessary privacy during the consultation.

city of Jena

The telemedicine room was opened in the Smart Quarter Jena Lobeda in 2024 and is part of the city of Jena's Smart City project in cooperation with Stadtwerke Jena. The aim is to make modern healthcare digitally and personally accessible at the same time. The telemedicine room was launched as a pilot project in the immediate vicinity of the University Hospital to test new approaches to medical care. The aim is to implement the model in rural regions following successful trials, thereby improving access to medical care across the board.

Initial feedback shows: The combination of technology and personal support has been very well received - an innovative contribution to healthcare that reaches everyone.
