Join our Smart City team as an Urban Data Coach (m/f/d)!

Are you a data professional who interprets complex information correctly and communicates it clearly? Are you also passionate about statistics and teamwork? Then you are exactly the right person to join our Smart City team!

Must haves

• You have a university degree, preferably in business informatics, statistics, computer science, mathematics or social sciences.
• You have practical knowledge of database management systems, SQL and programming languages (Java and/or Python).
• You are a team player and have the ability to communicate with various stakeholders within the administration at eye level.

Nice to have

• You have professional experience in the IT industry, science or public administration. You also have knowledge of statistical methods, especially the statistical software R.

What does an Urban Data Coach do?

As an Urban Data Coach (m/f/d), you will play a central role in Jena's digital transformation. You will expand the data competence and culture within the city administration and drive the further development of our urban data platform, the WISSENsAllmende Jena. Your work will lay the foundation for the digital transformation of our city.

You will be part of a committed, interdisciplinary team consisting of all five departments and thus various specialist areas of the city administration. We are a diverse group - different in age, gender, professional background and sometimes also in our approach. But we are united by a common goal: to make Jena a smart city.

Our team includes experts from the fields of education, urban development, business, science, mobility and data analysis - and let's be honest: nothing works without data professionals. That's why we need you! Someone who can not only read data, but also analyze it and explain it in an understandable way. And not just to us in the team, but also to other colleagues, specialists and managers. Don't worry - you're not alone! We have an expert for public relations and citizen participation who will support you, and our project managers will also make sure that everything runs smoothly. They coordinate the project, organize our regular meetings (preferably in person) and keep us up to date on important dates, such as the Christmas party.

Our team thrives on communication, mutual support and open feedback. If someone is absent, we fill in for each other. In short, we don't just work well together - we also get on very well personally.

Do you know the ProbierLaden? Or the JEDI? The telemedicine room? We have already successfully implemented these and other initiatives in the Smart City team. Together, we work hand in hand to further advance our vision for a smart Jena.
