Measure "Trial store at Jena Adult Education Center - a place to try out digital skills and get advice"

Citizens acquire low-threshold basic digital skills: A "Trial shop" will be set up in the city center as a place to try things out and get advice. With its low-threshold accessibility and modern equipment with digital hardware and software, it provides basic digital knowledge for all citizens - even without registration, free of charge and easy to use in passing.

The "ProbierLaden" gives citizens the opportunity to try out devices and applications, get help with even the most basic questions and problems and take advantage of educational offers on digital skills and technologies such as lectures, smartphone, tablet and laptop courses.

The "ProbierMobil" is being developed as a smaller on-site version and, in combination with the fixed location of the "Probierladen", represents a model that does not yet exist in this combination in Germany. It can be used flexibly in highly frequented locations, e.g. in supermarkets, district centers, senior citizens' meeting facilities or at city festivals.

To ensure the best possible user orientation, the "service design" method is used as the basis for the conception of the tasting store in collaboration with the Cologne University of Applied Sciences.

Tasting store as a venue for training series

The ProbierLaden also serves as a venue for a series of training courses for professionals from the fields of education, culture and social affairs to help them acquire basic digital skills. Just like citizens, they should have the opportunity to build up basic skills in dealing with digital media and technologies so that they can use them in their work.
