Sub-measure Smart Neighborhood Jena-Lobeda:

"Climate-friendly design of the living environment"

The smart district should offer its residents an attractive and liveable environment that meets the current and future challenges of the urban climate and offers a wide range of ecological benefits. Due to the urban development conditions, the district is currently exposed to higher environmental impacts such as poor air quality, noise and heat - problems that are to be specifically addressed by the project. A modular, wall-mounted façade greening system will be installed on one of the residential buildings, which can be efficiently maintained using an automated irrigation system. The aim of the measure is to create a role model for smart façade greening in Jena, which will pave the way for further greening projects on existing buildings, particularly prefabricated buildings.
