ProbierMobil Brings Digital Inclusion Directly to Neighborhoods

New power, more momentum: With the e-bike and Lukas on board, the ProbierMobil will be even more flexible as it travels through Jena’s neighborhoods, bringing digital participation exactly where it’s needed.

Stadt Jena

The ProbierLaden has now become an integral part of Smart City Jena and is visible even beyond its own premises. With the ProbierMobil, the service was expanded early on to include a mobile component: As a cargo bike trailer, it could be used at events, campaigns, and in the city’s neighborhoods to bring digital topics to life right on the spot.

Now the ProbierMobil is becoming even more flexible: Thanks to a new mode of transportation—an e-bike—the cargo trailer can be moved more easily and deployed more spontaneously. This creates new opportunities to reach people in different neighborhoods and bring digital counseling even closer to the everyday lives of Jena’s residents.

The mobile service is also getting a boost in staffing: With Lukas Dorn, the ProbierMobil now has a dedicated contact person who accompanies the mobile operations and answers questions from people on site.

Greater Reach for Digital Participation

With the ProbierMobil, this approach can be expanded even further across the city. Whether at neighborhood events, through collaborations with local partners, or via low-barrier on-site offerings, the mobile format fosters encounters centered on digital topics right where they arise.

The further development of the ProbierMobil complements the stationary ProbierLaden and expands its impact throughout the entire city. While the ProbierLaden offers a fixed location for counseling, courses, and collaborative learning, the mobile service brings digital support directly to the people.
