Girls'Day 2025 in retrospect: digital adventures and real aha moments

31 schoolgirls interested in technology, two exciting tours, six innovative companies - and lots of digital discoveries: That was the Jena Digital Safari - Girls'Day Edition 2025 on 03.04.2025.

In two tours, the schoolgirls from various Jena schools - including the Grete Unrein Integrated Comprehensive School, the Angergymnasium and the Otto Schott Gymnasium - went on a journey of discovery through the digital world of work. The girls, aged between 12 and 16, were able to experience first-hand how varied and creative jobs in the IT and tech sector can be.

Tour 1: Of superheroes, robots and creative solutions

The tour started at ORISA Software GmbH, where they modeled their own superheroes with the help of configuration software. The focus: how much digitalization is in our everyday products.

The tour continued to Navimatix GmbH, where real robots, micro:bits and two trainees were waiting to present their training as IT specialists.

The tour ended at Accenture DACH - with an interactive design thinking session, exciting insights into the everyday life of consultants and open discussions about career prospects.

Tour 2: Virtual worlds, word bingo and coder vibes

At rooom.com, the second group started with an excursion into virtual realities: Two experts gave insights into 3D technologies and the metaverse.

Intershop Communications AG then explained how large online stores work - including entertaining word bingo with small prizes.

Finally, a student lab awaited the girls at dotSource SE, where they not only learned more about digital apprenticeships, but were also able to program their own CVs - including real coder vibes.

Successful day

Our conclusion: the students were enthusiastic, motivated and showed a real spirit of research. Lots of new impressions, lots of curiosity and a good dose of enthusiasm for the future!

A big thank you to all the companies involved - ORISA Software GmbH, Navimatix GmbH, Accenture GmbH, rooom AG, Intershop Communications AG and dotSource SE - for your time, commitment and enthusiasm!

Special thanks also go to Merve Cilburunoglu and Katy Rosenkranz from JenaWirtschaft, who accompanied and supported the tours with a lot of heart.

We are already looking forward to the next Girls' Day - and to many more young women who are interested in technology, IT and digital professions.
