"JEDI" lands in the center of Jena: A space for digital visions and sustainable innovations
The opening week of the Jena Digital Werkstadt will take place from 12 to 16.08.2024 in the Post Carré will take place. This new facility will be a central anchor point called "JEDI"(Jena Digital InnovationHub) for digitalization, innovation and knowledge transfer, where stakeholders from business, science, administration and interested urban society will come together.
JEDI will be a measure that is part of the smart City project, funded by the Federal Ministry of Housing, Urban Development and Building. The aim is to to further strengthen Jena as a digital location through this facility, as the Digital Werkstadt serves as a central contact point for exchange on the topic of digitalization and innovative minds can network in this real-world laboratory to develop sustainable solutions. The Jena Digital Werkstadt - also known as the Jena Digital Innovation Hub - has a multifunctional interaction area and is both an event space it is both an event space for meetings and workshops on the topics of digitalization, the city of the future and sustainability and a showroom where digital innovations and hands-on exhibits can be seen and experienced.
Highlights of the opening week
The opening week offers a varied program to which all citizens are cordially invited.
Monday, 12.08.2024
- The grand opening of the Jena Digital Werkstadt with representatives from business, science and administration. The first exhibits will then be presented in the showroom.
Tuesday, the 13.08.2024
- The "Digi:TALK". The format that will take place regularly in the new Digital Innovation Hub.
Wednesday, the 14.08.2024
- The two regulars' table formats of Jena Digital e. V. - "JENA.AI - The regular developer table for artificial intelligence" and the "Software architecture regulars' table" will be brought together. Zeiss, Smart Commerce SE and the German Aerospace Center are the driving forces behind this exchange.

- The event "SUMMER SUMM_IT" invites you to two exciting panel talks.
Friday, the 16.08.2024
- Together with the Witelo e. V. and some companies from Jena Digital, an event will be held for the CodeWeek 2024 there will be exciting activities for children and young people.
