17:00 ~ 19:00
How many people are actually out and about in Jena's city center and when - and how are the streams of visitors distributed? In order to gain a better understanding of this, the city of Jena is planning an anonymized pedestrian frequency measurement in future.
It is important to note that no people are recognized, no images are stored and no personal data is recorded. The sensors used will only count anonymous movement flows.
What is the event about?
The Smart City team will present the project transparently at a public information event:
- How exactly does the measurement work?
- What technology is used - and why is it compliant with data protection regulations?
- What questions do citizens have about it?
We will also show what the data can be used for - for example for
- Urban development and better planning,
- strengthening retail and city centers,
- Tourism,
- as well as the organization of events and visitor guidance.
The participants include:
- Mayor and/or head of urban development
- Representatives of the Fraunhofer Institute
- Representatives of the city center initiative
- Representatives from the Mühlhausen Smart City project (Thuringia)
- Representatives of the Jena Smart City project
- Representatives of the city administration
We look forward to exchanging ideas with interested citizens!
