From September 16 to 18, 2025, Friedrich Schiller University Jena and numerous partners are hosting the fourth STEM Festival. For three days, the campus at Ernst-Abbe-Platz will be transformed into a world of experience in mathematics, computer science, natural sciences and technology. The focus in 2025 will be on the topic of "Communication". However, there will also be events on other current STEM topics.
Pupils of all ages - from elementary school to sixth form - can experience science up close: Hands-on experiments, interactive workshops and lectures make research understandable and technology exciting. There will also be activities for the general public.
The festival center is located at Ernst-Abbe-Platz (Carl-Zeiß-Str. 3, 07743 Jena). Workshops will also be held at the Jena Digital Innovation Hub (JEDI) - including
- Bits and messages - communication in the digital age (Promediatec GmbH)
- We program a plant guard (Navimatix GmbH)
- Solar power and computers - how does that work? (Stadtwerke Jena)
- Secret languages & cryptography - from Caesar to WhatsApp (Accenture GmbH)
- Social media & fake news - critically scrutinizing digital appearances (Accenture GmbH)
